Trainspotting a porno…

It looks like the long awaited trainspotting sequel has official started some sort of production. There has been hype about the sequel ever since 2007, but at that time McGregor and the Director, Danny Boyle, were still not talking to eachother because Boyle chose Leo over McGregor to star in the film adaptation of the novel “The Beach.” I think because of that falling out McGregor has always acted like a sequel would be a shame, but back in 2013, they appeared to be talking again and were able to drink some $10,000 a shot whisky and piss on a brush fire of money together while laughing at themselves for being mad at each other over a boy named Leo. Who has surprisingly gone on to make McGregor’s acting chops look amateur at best, I still think he should know better than try to to upstage Alec Guiness.

Fred Astaire with a stomach full of Corn Chips and Valium

Fred Astaire with a stomach full of Corn Chips and Valium from Phillip Lopez on Vimeo.

Just my friend Nathan Mitchell and I waking up at 5 am. No permits, 3 takes. I just strongly believe that the camera should move with the dancer, and that needs to be a dance as well, especially when it comes to eye contact to lens.

Three new episodes to maintain your High…

“High Maintenance” is back from their mid season break with three new episodes. I just watched them and they really seem to be in touch with their audience and what works on the show.

High Maintenance // SUFJAN from Janky Clown Productions on Vimeo.

The first episode, “SUFJAN”, is another reflection of the mellow drama within the culture of living in New York. These types of episodes are always refreshing because they give a fresh voice to the culture of living in New York. Most films or shows that try to shine light on this are usually just a rehash of the same old tired cliches and tropes that even NY virgins are tired of. This one is a reflection on the turmoils of finding a nice place that is out of the way, from my personal experience with NY, this is never worth it, unless you do not have to commute and even it needs to be necessary that you have the isolation for work. I’d much rather live in a 2 foot by 2 foot closet in the middle of Manhattan than a nice house in deep Brooklyn that is off the beaten path.

Eyes Of The Moon – Kickstarter ending

The ending of the Kickstarter for the “Eyes Of The Moon” film are coming to a close in about one day. Please do yourself a favor and at least go checkout the project page. The cinematography is very well done and is definitely inspirational to anyone who would like to make an independent film themselves.

I’ve personally always wondered what would be spawned from a crew of like minded talented filmmakers and artists when they come together and just shoot something. This was done over a period of two months which really doesn’t seem like a long enough time to come up with a film and then shoot it, but as I understand it they would discuss ideas and then shoot it later that day and over the next day or days until they finished the scene and came up with another unrelated scene other than a main central theme of femininity.

The project has just met its funding goal of $15k so please join in so you don’t miss out on this great project, also we can use the help to reach the funding stretch goals.

Southland Renewed: Season 5

The cops of “Southland” are staying on the beat. TNT has ordered a 10-episode Season 5 of the fan-favorite cop drama.

“I’m proud today to announce that TNT has ordered 10 episodes for a fifth season of Southland, scheduled to begin in February 2013,” Michael Wright, president and head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies, said in a statement.

Originally an NBC drama, TNT rescued the series from cancellation. On TNT, “Southland” has become one of the network’s most-popular shows. “Southland” ended its fourth season in March 2012 with about 1.7 million viewers. According to TNT, “Southland” Season 4 averaged more than 2.9 million viewers.

The series stars Michael Cudlitz as Officer John Cooper, Shawn Hatosy as Officer Sammy Bryant, Regina King as Detective Lydia Adams and Ben McKenzie as Officer Ben Sherman.

“We are very proud of ‘Southland’ and grateful to everyone involved in the series, including executive producers John Wells, Chris Chulack and Jonathan Lisco; creator Ann Biderman; and our partners at Warner Bros. Television,” Wright said. “We look forward to going deeper into the lives of Southland‘s extraordinary characters and the streets they struggle to keep safe next year.”
